You’ve Got Spam
05.20.2006 by Tim Reed
We got hit with a load of spam lately. I’ve taken steps to make sure it doesn’t happen again and deleted most of what you’d see on any recent comments.
Edit:
Holy crap, if you take a look at the bottom of the page you’ll see that there has been over 500 pieces of spam stopped since I took steps to stop it. Yow.

I’m sorry if you misunderstood my previous comments. I did not intend to run you down, I just thought it was so odd to run across an entire serious of blog in which each author had written a post with some kind of put down directed at Brian McClaren. I have read many books by him and have no gotten the impression that you did.
I am sorry if you felt like I was putting you down. My comment stating that it seemed like hypocrisy to state that you can spread the gospel without doing it was not meant to call you a hypocrit, I don’t know what you do or spread or anything else for that matter. I was simply trying to ask what it is that we as Christians are supposed to do when spreading the gospel? Are we to simply tell with words the gospel of Christ? Or are we to at least try and do the things that Christ did? Your post led me to believe that it is the job of Christians simply to tell people about Christ and not the place of Christians to actually try and live like him. If I misunderstood I’m sorry. I didn’t intend to recieve such a harsh reply from you, I did not intend to be harsh myself. But I am however, allowed to disagree with you.

If you’ll check out the archives of CV you’ll notice there hasn’t really been that much talk about McLaren, here’s what the search engine pulled up. The last time he was written about was in January, and the time before that it wasn’t about McLaren, but rather about other’s perceptions of McLaren. As far as Steve’s blog, and this one having similar views it shouldn’t be all that surprising. We grew up in the same city, I interned at the church he worked at, we both went to CCU, and we both are heavily involved in the Restoration Movement. Heck, he even posts on here occasionally.
I think its pretty clear that you didn’t bother to read the previous post that I referred to. But when you come onto a blog to criticize the views of that blog and then you end with “…. that is just plain hypocritical” then its pretty plain that you’re calling the author a hypocrite. If that’s not what you meant then you need to adopt a different writing style or make clear that what you’re saying isn’t being applied to the view expressed in the post.
I think if you’ll go back and read the initial post that spawned the post you responded to you’ll see exactly what I”m responding to.

I did read that before I commented. But since its clear that you won’t accept my apology or try and understand my point of view I’ll simply say that I’m done talking to you. I thought blogging was about the sharing of opinions and open communication. Oh well.

Who’s Brian McLaren?
I don’t write about him, I only write things that make people angry.
Tim, It was clear Joni was trying to apologize. Not that I know her, and I’m not commenting on whether she was correct in what she was saying or how she said it for that matter. But your response here was a bit harsh.
Joni, I don’t know if you’ll come back and read this or not, but don’t you know you aren’t actually allowed to disagree with Tim? Hehe, just kidding.
What’s all this have to do with spam?
